How it all started...
In 1891, Everett Church of Christ was formed. After the church building was destroyed by fire in 1908, the current chapel was built and has met at this location to this day.
Over the course of time the congregation dwindled until the 1990s when a local pastor (John Fisk) led the church in considerable growth through community connection. During this period, the name was changed to "The Church in the Valley". In 2007 (the year Pastor Fisk passed), a modern addition was completed.

Expanding the vision...
Currently, CIV is experiencing growth both spiritually and beyond. Church leadership is convinced that the best churches build on the success of the past and continue to move toward a biblical model of ministry. We recently updated our constitution and by-laws and changed our worship to better reflect a biblical understanding of church leadership and congregational focus. We are committed to knowing God and making Him known to all the world

Where we are headed...
As we grow, we are committed to completing the vision of Christ of reaching the world (locally and globally) while we grow closer to the Lord. We believe that God has answers for life. We are committed to developing our goals and practices to reflect the hope and change that Christ brought when He came to the world to bring assurance of forgiveness and mending of broken lives.
